To Educators:
As students begin to read more books independently, understanding the sequence of events that make up a story becomes critical. In this unit, students will re-examine the literacy element plot they were introduced to in third grade and study the five main elements that make up a plot: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Analyzing the five main plot elements will help enhance students’ writing and improve their reading comprehension.
Includes: Discussion questions and a follow-up activity that can be completed in class or given as a homework assignment.
