The Fourth Trees Story

The fourth small tree glanced across the fields and said to himself: “I want to be a grand table where powerful people come to discuss and negotiate important business upon me and have grand feasts as well. I’ll be the most important sign of power!”

The fourth woodcutter looked at the fourth tree and said, “This tree is sturdy and durable. It is perfect for me.” With a slash of his mighty axe, the fourth tree fell. his mighty axe, the fourth tree fell. “Now I shall be made into a durable table. Great men will eat upon me !” the fourth tree exclaimed.

The fourth tree was thrilled when the woodcutter took him to a carpenter’s shop, but no grand table was made that day. Instead, the resplendent tree was turned into a small table. Rather than have great feasts upon he was used for weak travellers to have a place to eat from.f

One day a prophet and his followers came and sat around him. Suddenly the man got out a piece of bread and broke it, he then said “Take this all of you and eat from it. For this is my body.” and gave it to his followers. The man spoke with such authority when he told his followers. “Surely this man can’t do such things?” thought the little tree.
