Maru, is one of the world’s most famous cats. Maru lives in Japan, He is a British shorthair Tabby which means his coat has unique stripes, dots, lines or swirling patterns, usually together with a mark resembling an ‘M’ on his forehead. Maru’s life has been documented since he was a tiny kitten, lets take a quick peek into his fantastic life.

Maru is a Youtube sensation, His funny videos has gotten millions of views. One of Maru’s favorite things is slinging himself into empty cardboard boxes, disregarding his size or the box’s.

Maru is an easygoing cat. He allows his owner to dress him up in different costumes. Most cats would not stand for being dressed up.. they simply walk away, or just not cooperate. Here we can see Maru combining his favorite activity with his owner’s favorite activity..sitting dressed up in a box.

Maru is a spoiled cat, He loves being groomed by his owner. Maru sits quietly and patiently while she brushes his fur or clips his claws.

Maru has become so famous for his good nature and the love of boxes, he even has his own “Pusheen” caricature!

After 6 years, Maru’s owner thought he could use the company and got him a little sister, Hanna. Hanna is an Ally cat, she was adopted from the local shelter.

Hanna and Maru love each other, she never leaves his side. As we can see in this picture, Hanna is giving Maru a bath. Cats show affection and love by grooming each other.
