Founded and run by 8 teachers from 7 countries SMILE is a brand new school which has taken as a model Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Even though it is similar to Hogwarts, SMILE has its own traditions and brings in its novelties.
It was designed for young teenagers who are interested in magic, learning and personal growth. SMILE aims to create a virtual school community â based on the positive psychology principles – to learn, grow character strengths, communicate, collaborate and create together with students from the five countries involved in mixed nationality groups.
SMILE’s first and foremost purpose is to create a learning environment that would give students the opportunity to find out and develop their character strengths while interacting, communicating, creating and learning together with their peers.

Reviews and Testimonials
The Sorting Hat Ceremony was a festive event where the speaking online Sorting hat looked at the students and assigned them to a house or another. Students stood in line, patiently waiting for their turn to find out what house they are in.
Austria, Turkey and Moldova did the Sorting Hat Ceremony together in an Online event. Poland, Ireland, Czech Republic and Spain even though didn’t manage to join because of the school timetable, did the Sorting Hat Ceremony in the same official manner.
There was an earnest atmosphere that dominated the investment at SMILE.
The School of Magic Inspiring Learning Experiences has offered students a lot of opportunities to learn.
They had a wide range of classes to chose from. Each class had a plethora of activities from which students could choose the most interesting for them activities.
Each class was managed and led by a teacher at SMILE who acted as a facilitator and guided students through the activities.
The activities were designed to encourage the personal development, XXI century skills such as communication (language literacy in English, French and German), collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
It it an idea similar to Erasmus+ programs exchanges.
But at SMILE, Wizardus+ was a way to introduce the country participants and get to know them better.
Every partner involved researched and introduced the country assigned instead of presenting their own country. Students chose a country to apply for, other than the one researched to study.
Country to research | Teacher responsible |
Austria | Antonio Bonachera, Spain |
Czech Republic | Carol Fynn, Ireland |
Moldova | Fatma Barlas, Turkey |
Poland | Liliana Nederita, Moldova |
Romania | Miroslava Borovcova, Czech |
Spain | Monika Khan, Poland |
Turkey | Sandra Steinbock, Austria |
Ireland | Maria Luca, Moldova |
Different tools and ways to present the partner countries were employed.
