Kabbalah and the Sefirot

Welcome to our learning on kabbalah and the sefirot.

The first thing we have to do is leave all of our baggage that we have about kabbalah at the door.  Read the cartoon, and think of some of the ideas about kabbalah that float around in popular culture.

The first term that we need to come to grips with is the word “sefirot.”  What are the three possible meanings that are embedded in this term?  How do you think that these concepts can be intertwined?  When you do, think about how God created the world.  What did He do?

Now let’s go through the ten sefirot and see what each of the names mean, and to which other symbols they are connected.
