If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

If you give a mouse a cookie,

he’s going to ask for a glass of milk.

There is milk in the refrigerator.

There isn’t milk on the table.

When you give him the milk,

he will probably (=כנראה) ask you for a straw (=קש).

There are straws in the box.

There aren’t straws in the hair.

When he’s finished, he’ll ask for a story.

So you’ll read to him from one of your books,

and he’ll ask to see the pictures.

There are pictures in the book.

There aren’t pictures on the wall.

He’ll get so excited he’ll want to draw one of his own.

He’ll ask for paper and crayons (=צבעי פנדה).

He’ll draw a picture.

When the picture is finished,

he’ll want to hang his picture on your refrigerator.

He’ll hang up (=יתלה) his drawing (=ציור)

and stand back to look at it.

There is a mouse on the floor.

There isn’t a mouse in front of the glass.

Looking at the refrigerator will remind him that

he’s thirsty.

So… he’ll ask for a glass of milk.

And chances are if he asks for a glass of milk,

he’s going to want a cookie to go with it.
