Educational Visit to the Town Hall of Ampelonas

Educational Visit to the Town Hall of Ampelonas.

Learning about democracy , on the basis of the subject of Citizenship.

On December 30 ,the pupils and their teacher Efi Tsigara -Palaska visited the Town Hall which is located on the square of Ampelonas .

The motive was the subject of Social and Political Education.

They all entered the council chambers.

They were guided around and saw how a real Council is run.

Roula Sourlantzi Zaharaki and Anastasia Dalampeka ,members of the council ,welcomed them and explained the roles and responsibilities of the council to them, so as the students to develop an understanding of different political viewpoints and an appreciation of the importance of voting.

They were also given confidence and were encouraged to engage themselves in political debates, as adults later.

Finally, they all really enjoyed their visit and as a result learned a lot about their Town Hall , the local council and the way people vote, as well as the importance of democracy.

Their visit were crucial for voting the logo for the project ΄΄eTwinners Town ”.

They took on the whole process of voting!
