When I Miss My Grandma

I live in Israel.

Covid-19 is now in my country.

“We can’t leave home!” says mommy.

I stay at my home for over a year,

and I can’t meet my grandma how lives so near.

Every day I want to see my grandma,

as I did before all this Covid-19 drama.

But mommy and daddy don’t allow me to go.

So I am trying to think,

what will help me to sneak?

On Monday when I miss my grandma,

I am waiting for noon when my parents are sleeping.

But every time I open the front door,

I can hear that my daddy is awake and he doesn’t snore.

On Tuesday when I miss my grandma,

I am waiting to hear if my daddy cleans the house.

But when I am trying to sneak from the backyard,

daddy is already there cleaning the pool very hard.

On Wednesday when I miss my grandma,

I want to take a ladder and escape from my window.

But I think mommy knows what I want to do,

and if she will catch me, she will ground me after the Corona too.

On Thursday when I miss my grandma,

I want to play music loudly so no one could hear me.

But when I am trying to open the door with the key,

mommy is there looking at me and she doesn’t agree.

On Friday when I miss my grandma,

I want to jump from our red roof and fly like a bird to visit her.

So I climb the stairs and get ready to jump and become a bird.

But suddenly daddy and mommy were there.

Daddy said- “NO! what are you doing?? why are you trying to jump from the roof?!”.

And I just stood there and cried.

“I want to see grandma! I miss her so much!” I cried.

“And you don’t let me see her!”

Mommy and daddy gave me a big hug!

“You don’t need to jump or sneak to see grandma.” said daddy.

“You can see her via ZOOM if you want!” said mommy.

“ZOOM?” I asked. “What is it?”

“Come here we will show you”, said mommy and daddy.

They opened the computer slowly and sent grandma a link to ZOOM.

Suddenly I could hear and see my grandma!

Now on Saturday when I miss my grandma,

I open the ZOOM and speak with her all day long!
