Reflection
Before I started this course I believed myself to be quit a technological teacher. I tried to keep my class interactive using videos and kahoot, padlets and even google classroom.
But I surprised not only by the amount of tool (free tools!) out that for me to use but also by how easy it was to learn how to use them.
I think that the guidance we received was super professional and clear to follow. It was also gradually built; we have learned to use tools from a very basic level to a more advanced skilled which was not as intimidating as it could have been.
All in all, I’m very happy to have taken part in this supper practical and professional course. I’ve learned a lot!
A Look Into The Future
Unfortunately, since I’m not teaching via zoom but in class, I found it hard to embed most of the tools we learned during my lessons. I realized that for my students, using the phone during the lesson is too much of a distraction, though I meant for the applications to serve me in class.
I’ve shared my new skills with my collogues and we do our best to assimilate more digital tools into our teaching. I took it upon myself to share what I learned with the rest of team and in each of our weekly meeting we try to learn something new.
Hopefully, together, we will encourage each other to use more of the tools we now know how to navigate.
