my Human Impact Issue is coral reef destruction and this is an issue because it is like the rainforest of the sea. Some of the fish that live there are crustaceans, reptiles, seaweeds, bacteria, fungi, and over 4000 species of fish make their home there.

These are somethings that cause this issue to happen It is not just all humans there are some natural causes that have happened too. Like hurricanes and disease. but the stuff that humans have done is overfishing, destructive fishing techniques, pollution and careless tourism.

Here is where some of  the most coral destruction is in the world most of the loss of coral is near the equator. But the part that is being most affected is off the coast of Australia in the great barrier reef. But there is also a problem off the coast of Florida and Mexico.

When the coral is dying it is affecting over 4000 fish and 5 million people in 100 countries. Here some of the most common organisms that live in coral reefs crustaceans, reptiles, seaweeds, bacteria, and fungi.

Here are some things that are also affected: lots of fish and other organisms have lost their homes and or food. And with the warming sea and rising levels of CO2 in the water.

And finally this problem became an issue over the last 40 years and has only just gotten worse and worse. But people are trying to help fix them by selling different sunscreen and telling people not to over fish and to keep the reefs alive because it is mostly the humans fault and they are the ones that caused the problem.  It has just been getting worse and not better and if we don’t do something soon they will all be gone

The solution I chose was if you go snorkeling do not touch the coral and use reef friendly sunscreen which can help less the problem. This solution will help the problem because humans are the main part of why they are dying so if we stop one of the main problems we could see a recovery of the plants. The materials that are needed for this to work is sunscreen that is not harmful to the coral then we would also need some sights to close down and let the coral try and grow back.

Some people or organizations I would need to help carry out this plan is a sunscreen company to help make this product and I would also need people who are willing to share the word that we need to keep the coral alive. It is very important if everyone followers these ideas because this can help save them and make them come back because of our mistakes. So as long as people start thinking about the whole environment everyone can help bring back the coral reefs!
