My personal opinion about Canterbury tales

In the Canterbury Tales, I was very impressed by the fantasy and creativity of the story. Geoffry Chaucer in my opinion is an innovative writer, because when he travels around Europe he can have a broader view of literature, and thanks to this he manages to create a lot of stories, each one different from the other them and unites them in single masterpiece; in fact, in the stories we talk about love, betrayals, funny adventures, battles and more;                                                                       such a particular style will make him one of the most important English writers.

Adam Delving is beautiful stained glass window was created around 1176 and still glows with vivid colour and moving humanity. Adam is an ideal portrayal of a medieval peasant. He works the land, bare-chested. His spade digs deep. A tree grows, grey against the blue sky. Work is the curse of Adam, the fate of humanity exiled from Eden. Yet it has dignity in this picture. When the sun catches its colours, the digger shines heroically. In medieval Britain, there were three orders of people, those who pray – the Church – those who fight – the knighthood – and those who labour like Adam to bring food from the land Illustration: Canterbury Cathedral

Wife of bath story

The wife of Bath is one of the two female storytellers of the Tales : she travelled the world as a pilgrim, that’s why the pilgrimage to Canterbury appears easier compared to previous travels. The woman then claims not only to have seen many lands, but also to have brought five different husbands to the altar.
She is a wealthy woman, enterprising  and very experienced embroiderer, her clothes touch the extravagance, including colored socks and shoes in soft leather, radiant and new, all to show how rich she had become. According to the description, she possessed many of the physical canons of a sensual woman for the time: she had a space between the front teeth, wide hips; she had a beautiful cheeky face, red cheeks.

Geoffrey Chaucer suggests that the wife of Bath undertook these pilgrimages more to meet new men than for a purely religious aim, which outlines a vital, enterprising and worldly woman profile; also emphasizes her arrogant and self-centered character, not only in the extravagant clothes she wore to be noticed, but also in the claim to be always the first, in church, to make an offer.

PERSONAL OPINION WIFE OF BATH

THE WOMAN IN THE PHOTO IS PROBABLY MIDDLE-AGED, SHE HAS A LONG RED DRESS AND A STRANGE LARGE HAT. IF PEOPLE LOOK AT THE DRESS SHE WEARS, THEY THINK SHE IS A RICH WOMAN. THEY THINK ALSO THAT SHE WANTS TO SHOW HER ELEGANCE TO THE PEOPLE WHO LOOK AT HER. I THINK  THE WOMAN IS MARRIED BUT SHE HAS NO CHILDREN AND DOES NOT WORK.

Federico Bovo:

What women want

Once upon a time a queen asked a knight to help her to break a malefic spell.

The way to lift the curse was to find wat women wonted.

So the knight decided to go to a hag and asked her if she knew what women wanted. The hag replied that every woman is different from the others end every woman wants something different.

He was not satisfied for the answer

and he decided to go to a wise man and asked him if she knew what women wanted

the wise man answered that women want love.

The stressed knight decided to go to a priest and asked him the usual question.

the priest looked at him and told him that women want happiness for the family.

The knight returned to the castle and the queen asked him if he was able to find the truth about women, the man answered her that every woman is different and wants different things and the men know nothing about them!

IN GENERAL, MY OPINION ABOUT ENGLISH LESSON IS POSITIVE ALTHOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN SOME PROBLEMS.I REALLY LIKED THE FACT THAT I USED SEVERAL PARTICULAR AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TO MAKE FEEL WORK AT HOME MORE FUN AND LIGHTER, EVEN THOUGH VERY OFTEN I HAD A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING INSTRUCTIUNS. APART FROM THAT, I WOULD FINE. IF WE HAD TO DO ONLINE LEARNING AGAIN I WOULD PREFER TO DO HOMEWORK BOTH IN THE TRADITIONAL WAY AND INNOVATIVE MODE.

END.
