What is Augmented Reality?
3
Augment Reality is the enhancement of the world that every individual experiences on a daily basis through the imposition of digital text, sound, images, and video on that world.
These digital add-ons or extras allow the viewer to learn and experience more about the world they naturally experience and live in.

AR in Education
Augmented Reality has the incredible potential to increase student learning by providing them with opportunities to engage in new ways.
With AR, students can create, present, as well as learn from the manipulation of 3D images and video.
With AR, students can communicate and interact with the teacher and their peers in multiple learning modalities. A simple lecture can become an immersive and interactive experience with the addition of text, video, sound, and images that can be simultaneously accessed while the teacher or lecturer is speaking.

hp Reveal/AURASMA
hp Reveal/AURASMA is an AR application that would allow students to scan their homework with a mobile device and get access to video tutorials. Photos that students are studying can also be scanned to access pertinent information about the photo or painting. Students can make videos that can be used with word walls in the classroom. Other students can access definitions or examples made by their peers when they scan a word on the word wall.

AR Flashcards
These interactive flashcards allow students to access 3D images and additional content about the vocabulary words they are studying. This could an especially helpful tool with ELL students who may be struggling to conceptualize or contextualize the vocabulary.

JIG Space
Students can manipulate and gain access to a multitude of 3D objects that could use to practice analyzing how something is constructed. Students in English class could use these objects to practice technical writing by explaining the process behind how something works or is constructed.

CO SPACES EDU
Students can build their own 3D images and/or objects and animate them. Students could use this application to collaborate on a 3D creation and ultimately incorporate it into a dynamic presentation on a particular subject.

wonderscope
Students can interact with stories and experience storytelling in a whole new way. This application could be hugely beneficial in helping students visualize and conceptualize what they are reading, which would ultimately help with their overall reading comprehension.
