The students read a story about Duck who laid an egg and needed help while she sat and sat.

After discussing the story,

the students prepared story cubes.

The 2nd grade class started zooming very quickly after schools closed down.

We started by coming up with ideas of what we can do at home. Here are some of the students’ fun ideas:

I can do art. (Ateret)

We can play games with our family. (Leeya)

I can help clean for Pesach. (Kineret)

We can put up a tent in our porch. (Abigael)

We read about different animals in the book Hop, Skip and Jump. The students learned to write a structured paragraph and practiced the skill.

Elephants

Elephants are really big. They eat plants and they drink a lot of water. They are very good at finding water. On hot days they drink water to keep them cool.

If a baby elephant loses its mother then another elephant takes her place. Old elephants can’t go fast so the other elephants help them.

We like elephants very much.

After thinking of our favorite places in Jerusalem, we decided to write about the Kotel and what you can do there.

The Kotel

The Kotel is very special. You can write notes of things we wish. Then you need to fold the note and push it into the cracks. You can’t look at other people’s notes. You can pray there. There is a very nice view. I really like the Kotel.

Just in time for the summer, we read a story about the beach. We just HAD to write about our favorite things to do there.

The Beach

I love going to the beach. I love to go in the deep water and swim. I also like to splash my friends or my family. It’s so much fun to collect sea-shells and build sandcastles. I really like to try to make a mountain and put sea-shells on the sides. I really love the beach.
