A Bunny was happily playing in a grassy meadow. While playing the Bunny spotted a small hole. The Bunny hopped over to the hole and saw there was a Snake inside.
“Good evening!” proclaimed the Bunny as she smiled happily down into the hole.
“Good evening dear child, what are you doing away from home?” asked the Snake. “Shouldn’t you be with your mother?”
“Momma said I could play in this meadow because it is away from the foxes,” said the Bunny.
“What a wise person your mother is,” said the snake. “Why don’t you come down here to play a game with me?”
“But won’t you grab me and pull me inside?” asked the Bunny.
“Silly Bunny, I have no hands to grab you and no arms to pull you down,” replied the Snake.
The Bunny, seeing that this was true, trusted the snake and entered the tunnel. The further she crawled, the less she could see. Down and down the Bunny went. In the darkness, the Bunny became overwhelmed with fear and tried to turn around only to discover she was stuck!
“Help me!” cried the Bunny.
“You foolish Bunny! Didn’t your mother teach you not to trust strangers?” said the sly snake.
The snake quickly ate the Bunny and slithered deeper into the tunnel, waiting for more foolish creatures to become his prey.
