The Dog

A thousand years ago, a wolf was very hungry. He wanted to go looking for food, but he was too weak to go hunting. Suddenly he saw a campfire. Sitting around the campfire were a group of people. They were calmly singing and loudly chewing.

The wolf sat watching them, and started thinking: “I was kicked me out of my pack because I was too friendly. I’m hungry, maybe I should go ask the humans for food. What could possibly go wrong?”. He thought of it, and decided that he will risk it.

He walked their way, and in a mournful voice asked them: “Hello humans, my pack kicked me out and I don’t have any food, I have been starving for hours. Can I have some of your food?” The humans looked at him, and asked: “What can you do?”.

He answered: “I will guard you and when I get stronger, I’ll help you hunt for food, and entertain you.” “Alright,” said the humans, “we will feed you.” They fed him food, gave him a place to sleep, water and food. They lived with him happily ever after. Here we are many years later and dogs are still entertaining us, guarding us, and more.
