Hello! my name is Diana, today I will tell you about my life during the Corona period.
I would like to start my story with the day when our lives changed.
It was Tuesday, March 12th.
It was an ordinary day, as I thought, but in the evening we were informed about schools closing.
On Friday morning, students came to the school to take their books and notebooks from the lockers to their homes.
Since that day we started learning through ZOOM, in our homes.
It was a confusing period.
In the first week of the Quarantine we learned from home.
Then schools were closed for a week, and we were back to school after difference of opinions between the teachers and the ministry of education.
It was unusual time!
In the beginning I was very happy to learn from home, because I didn’t have to get up early for the bus, and every day we started to study at 10am.
In addition, we didn’t study on Fridays as usual.
Although I enjoyed staying at home, I missed my friends and wanted to be back to school.
At that time my grandma who lives in Ukraine, missed us a lot and decided to come and visit us in Israel.
My grandma called us three times a day, and was concerned from the situation in Israel and thought that she was not going to see us again.
One Friday my mom decided to make challah, I was very surprised, because my mom is usually at work during the day(she is a doctor) and she has no time to cook with me.
During the Corona she worked only three days a week and had a lot of time to spend with me.
I must admit that my challah was better than my moms.
HOW TO MAKE CHALLAH?
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of yeast 3 tablespoons of sugar
1 kg of flour 500 ml of water
Pinch of salt Sunflower oil
One egg
Preparation:
1. Put the yeast in a bowl, and mix it with two spoons of sugar and 250 ml of water.
2. Wait 15 minutes.
3. Sift the flour and mix carefully with the yeast.
4. Add the remaining sugar, an egg, pinch of salt and mix.
5. Oil your hands and knead the dough.
6. Leave the dough in a bowl, cover the bowl with a towel, and put it aside for one hour.
7. Take the bowl and place it near you, dissolve some flour on the work surface, remove the dough from the bowl, and put on the surface.
8. Divide the dough into the couple of pieces from wich you want to braid the challah.
9. Braid the challah and leave her for 20-30 min on a pan.
10.Wipe the challah with a scrambled egg, and scatter seeds of your choice.
11. Bake the challah for 25 min at a temp of 250 degrees.
ENJOY!!!
The return to the schools in Herzliya was also very confused .
The first date was Tuesday, May 19th, but the day before my teacher told us we were still staying at home, and will be back to the schools on Wednesday.
So we returned to the school on Wednesday, the first week we learned until 1pm and without masks because it was very hot.
From Sunday we started learning according to our normal schedule with the duty of wearing a mask.
The same day we went to school, the teachers began to determine us a test’s dates.
On Tuesday, June 2nd, my teacher informed us that from tomorrow we back to learn half a week from home and the rest days at school.
The end!
Thank you for reading my book!!!
I have more intresting stories about my life during Corona days.
