We love to use plastic bags because they’re free.

What We Use Them For !

Israelis use about 430 million bags every month; that means five billion plastic bags every year!
We use plastic bags for many things, such as for garbage, to carry things and for our school
sandwiches.

Why They’re a Problem 

It takes about one thousand years for plastic to  break down and disappear. Plastic bags pollute  our seas, beaches and parks. They are also dangerous. Animals and birds get caught in the bags or eat them because they think the bags are food. This kills the animals.
