Bean Salad
Ingredients
1 can of green, yellow, kidney, and chick beans
1 large onion
4 pieces of celery
1 green pepper
1/4 cup oil
1 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
Directions
Rinse and drain the beans
Dice the onion, celery, and green pepper
Mix the oil, vinegar, sugar, and, salt
Let marinate for 2 days then stir and serve
Barbeque Burgers
Instructions
1 tbs Butter
2 cup Onion
2 tsp Pepper
1 tsp Salt
2 scoops Sugar
4 tsp Dry Mustard
8 tbs Worchesshire Sause
4 tsp Chilli powder
4 tsp paprika
2 cup Ketchup
1 cup Water
1 cup Vinegar
Directions
Simmer in sauce
Sweet and Sour Beef
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs beef stew meat
2 tbs oil
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup sliced onions
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
4 tsp cornstarch
BBQ Chicken
Ingredients
2 whole chickens cut up
1/2 cup Oil
1 cup Vinegar
1 tbs Salt
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp pepper
2 eggs
Directions
Mix ingredients together
Baste chicken turn every 8-10 min (about 45 min)
Foiled Baked Chicken
Ingredients
1/3 cup each catsup and vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup manganin (melted)
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp each salt, paprika, chili powder, dry mustard
3 lbs cut-up broiler
Combined all except chicken and add 1/2 cup water
Dip chicken – divide into 8 servings – each serving in foil – pour 1 tbs over portion – seal foil
Bake 400 for 45 min – open and brush with remaining sauce
Bake for 15 mins
Banana Bread
Ingredients
1/2 cup oil
2 cup flour
1 cup Sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp baking pud
1 tsp Baking soda
3 ripe Bananas
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Vallila
3 tbs Milk
1/2 cup Nuts
Directions
beat oil and sugar
add crushed bananas and eggs-beat
add dry ingredients, milk, and vanilla
mix – add nuts
grease pan ( 9 x 5 x 3 1hr/3 sm pans 45 min)
Anise Cookies
Instructions
3 cups Sugar
2 sticks Butter
1 cup Crisco
4 Eggs
1 tsp Cream of tartar
1 tsp baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
2 tsp oil of Anise
Enough flour to roll into shapes (7-8 cups)
Directions
Bake at 350 for 10-12 min
Easy Apple Crisp
Ingredients
4 peeled apples
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine (soft)
Directions
Put apples into an 8x pan
Combined brown sugar and cinnamon and put over apples and pour water
Mix flour, sugar, and margarine then sprinkle over apples
Bake for 45-50 min or golden brown
Mexican Wedding Cakes
Ingredients
1 cup chopped Nuts
1 cup butter
3/4 Conf. sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
extra xxx sugar
Directions
Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla blend in flour – add nut 3/4″ balls
Bake at 300 for 30-40 min (until creamy color)
While warm roll into extra xxx sugar
When completely cool roll again
Store in a tightly covered container
Bread Pudding
Ingredients
8 slices of bread (stale)
3 tbs melted butter
1/2 cup raisins
4 eggs (beaten)
2 cups milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Drizzle bread with butter and raisins
Combined eggs, milk, cin. sugar, and vanilla (mix well)
Pour over the bread – push so covered and soaked
Bake for 55 min or until top springs back
Sprinkle with brown sugar and cin. before baking
(bake 40 min covered with foil – remove)
Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cans Pillsbury Grand cinnamon rolls
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter (melted) cinnamon roll icing
Directions
Pre-heat 350
grease pan
plastic bag – 1/2 cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon
separate rolls and cut each into 1/4’s
shake pieces in a bag – coat
arrange in pan
mix brown + 1 tsp cinnamon
pour over roll pieces
bake 28-32 min/golden brown
cool 10 min
turn upside down into a plate
drizzle icing
Grandma’s Ginger Snap Cookies
Instructions
1 1/2 cup Crisco
2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Molasses
2 Eggs
4 cup Flour
4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
Directions
Cream: shortening and sugar- add molasses and eggs then beat
Add: flour, baking soda, pumpkin spice mix-chill
Preheat 375 and roll 1″ balls-sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon
Cook for 7-9
Date/Nut Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup margarine
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cup chopped dates
1 1/2 cup chopped nuts
cream shortening/ add plugin/ flavoring and eggs – beat until light/ add sifted dry dates/ nuts mix well – shape into 2 – 2″ roll wrap on wax paper chill overnight
slice 1/8″ thick – 375 – 8 to 10 min
