Örtünmek ve giyinmek gibi ihtiyaçlar, kumaş dokumacılığının, süslemeciliğin gelişmesini sağlamış, boyama ve desenleme, nakışlarla süsleme işlerini de ortaya çıkarmıştır. Önce dokumacılık denilen iş kolunun ürünleri kumaşlar hem ev tezgâhlarında hem de dokumacı esnafının loncaları içinde üretilmektedir.

Bu kültür içerisinde geleneksel giysilerimiz ve giysi aksesuarlarımız da yer almaktadır.

Kullanılan malzeme, teknik, şekil ve bezeme özellikleri ile kullanış biçimlerinden dolayı verdikleri mesajlar Anadolu takılarına ayrı bir anlam kazandırmıştır. Bu nedenle kadın, inanç ve özenle taktığı takıları ne zaman ve nasıl kullanacağını yaşam biçimi içerisinde öğrenerek ve toplumun geleneklerine bağlı olarak sürdürmüştür.
