Finally Peter and Mary had got married. As a honeymoon they decided to go to Paris, the place for people fallen in love. After two weeks everything was arranged for their trip. In that wonderful morning Peter and Mary were quite excited, because neither he nor she had never flown on a plane before. Mary was afraid to leave anything at home, but Peter had already packed all the suitcases and documents. Having asked neighbors to look after their cat the couple went to the airport.
At that time Christmas had been approaching rapidly. The streets were covered with snow, and the shops were decorated with bright colored garlands. Mary admired the scenery from the window of the taxi and thought how to say Peter that she was pregnant. “It will be the best Christmas present ever,” she decided. By the time they arrived at the airport , it started to snow and many flights were canceled.
Mary got upset, but Peter was in high spirits and addressed to the help desk.
-Excuse me,are there any non-stop flights to Paris? Our flight has just been canceled.
-Wait a minute,- the clerk said. -There are two tickets for the flight 701. The plane leaves in a half an hour. You should hurry up!
-What a luck! exclaimed Peter.
Peter and Mary went to the check-in-desk to weigh their luggage. Peter had to pay an excess luggage, as Mary had taken too many clothes. Having got the boarding cards for the plane with seat numbers they went through passport control. Then the couple heard an announcement of the boarding on Paris.”We should hurry,if we don’t want to miss our plane”,-said Mary.”Certainly”.-was the answer.
They went through the departure gate, and there was a security check before they actually got on the plane. When all the passengers were on board and when the captain and his crew were ready in the cockpit, the plane moved to the end of the runway. Finally, permission was received from the control tower and the plane moved faster and faster and finally took off.
“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Captain Gibson and his crew welcome you aboard British Airways Flight 701 to Paris. We will gain height of 30000 feet. We are flying at a speed 600 miles an hour. We’ll land in Paris in five and a half hours. The temperature in Paris is now minus 3°C. Our flight attendants will serve lunch in half an hour. Thank you for your attention.”
The visibility was good, so Mary and Peter could see the earth through the illuminator. Their travel was just beginning…
