My big trip

I have started my trip in Australia, the land of Kangaroos:)

I arrived to Melbourne without a job but with big plans..

I didnt have a lot of money so the plan was first finding a job and than traveling around.

From here to there (after many hours searching on the internet), I found myself in the midle of the desert, in a place call Mildura.

The reason I drove to Mildura (12 hours on the bus..) was due to a job offer at a “working hostel”- “all you need to do is pay rent to the hostel and we will find a job for you on the farms in the area”.

The offer sounded perfect.. meet new friends, work and live in the desert. What i didn’t know is that the guy who ran the place was a criminal.. he was known to the police by lying and fooling tourists. He promised jobs and neved deliverd.. so all we did was paying him rent and losing your money…

After 2 weeks of spending a lot of money, I left.

My first stop for the trip wasn’t the best, but luckely after that my situation improved quickly.

I found on facebook a lovely family who wanted to host in their house an Israeli just because they adore Israel. They are Christians, who have been in israel many times and love to help Israelis.. go figure…

They have a huge farm of lemon trees where I was working for the following 3 month.Until today they send me their greetings every jewish holiday.

After that I was a bit tired of being on my own, so I returned to the big city- Melbourne!

In Melbourne i worked in “Agalot”- which are cosmetic shops placed in the mall. The company was big, the people were nice and I stayed there for another 4 months.

Meanwhile, I had time to visit the area and make small trips during weekends.

The ” great ocean road” was probably the nicest of them all…

While I was in Australia, a friend from my village told me he was going to travel in New Zealand.

I decided to join him and booked my ticket for the next adventure.

New Zealand was pure magic!

The nature is amazing, and the people are even better.

I was trekking most of my time with two friends from Israel, and during the last month, my girl friend (Lucie), whom I met in Australia, joined me.

I stayed 3 month in this beautiful country!

Lucie always spoke about Nepal and that she wants to travel there too. But, we were exhausted . I was traveling for the last 3 month nonstop, hundreds of kilometers by foot! So, first we took a plane to Thailand, in order for us to rest on the islands in the south of the country.

It was definitely the right decision! We spend there another month, visiting around 6 diffrent islands!

After this small break , we achived our goal and arrived to Nepal.

We started the Everest trek!

We decided to do the longest path- three weeks trek from the furthest village you can start from.

This trek was amazing! The hights of the mountains are incredible! No one can really understand it with out seeing it with his own eyes. Imagine standing on a mountain 5000 m’ high and feel small!

I spent another 45 days in this beautiful country.

There is a lot to tell about this trek but my first night was the most extrem and the biggest experience of them all..

Lucie and I took an 8 hour bus from Katmandu to a village called Jiri, which was supposed to arrive at night. The drive started nice, but along the way, the sky started to get darker and darker and a storm arrived.

Apparently the last few kilometrs to Jiri were on some stone trails which were flooded with mud, The driver didn’t care and drove in the dark any way. After around twenty min in the middle of nowhere, we got stuck in the mud.. every body had to get off the bus , trying to clean the road so we could keep moving. After ten minuets of work we are on our way again. Wet and scared we sat back on our seats thinking, what the hell just happend??

After another ten min, hell, we where stuck again! This time it was next to a farm with the poorest people I’ve ever seen in my life! After thirty min of still trying to push the bus, we understood it is useless, and that we are going to spend our night there. It was -2 degrees and half snowing! We begged  the people of the farm for a shelter for the night and they were happy to help. They let us sleep in a room half broken and leaking. We couldnt sleep that night and didn’t have a lot to eat but it was definitely an experience and I will never forget it! It was amamzing to see those people trying to help while they bearly have food and shelter for themself.

After that day, the sky was blue again, the road was clean and we arriverd to Jiri to start the most beautiful trek of them all!

My last stop of my trip was in France, in Lucie’s parents home. They live next to Toulose and next to the Pyrenees mountains.

Lucie taught me how to do ski touring (ski I new before), its hiking up the mountains with the ski or snowboard (on your back)  and skiing all the way down- great fun!

I spent in France another 45 days and than came back to Israel tired and happy.
