My name is Halee and I am going to tell you a story all about my Poppy and me! This is my Poppy, he is funny, loves guitars, and he loves to fix up watches.
My Poppy always tries his best to come watch me play soccer and softball. I love hearing him cheer me on!
After most of my games, I would sleep over at my Nonny and Poppy’s house. We loved going out to eat together to some of our favorite places.
Normally after dinner my Poppy would always have the best idea, to go get some Ice cream! He would always say “can’t have dinner without dessert!”
When I would stay the next morning, he loved to make me eggs! They were made with a special ingredient we called love!
My Poppy and I did many things together. We loved to go camping and boating at the lake. It was so fun because we would tube and my Poppy would drive the boat.
One of my favorite things Poppy and I did was go to Build-A-Bear Workshop.
When we got there my Poppy told me to pick out a bear. I picked a curly haired bear with a big red heart on it. My Poppy put his voice in it, it said “I love my Haleebug always and forever!”
We then got to stuff the bear and fill out a paper that was all about my bear! I named him Curly!
We then left the shop and I took the bear everywhere I went and I slept with it every single night.
A couple days later I went over to my Nonnys, my Poppy was not there. I got confused and asked my Nonny where he was.
My Nonny said to me “sometimes bad things happen to very good people and that good person today was your Poppy.” I started to cry, because I realized that my Poppy is gone.
I realized from now on things will be different and everyone is going to be sad for a very long time, especially my Nonny.
One night I was very upset about what had happened and I rolled over in my bed and heard a noise. “I love my Haleebug always and forever”. It was my bear!
From that night on I knew my Poppy would always be with me through my bear and in my heart forever. If I ever needed to hear his voice I can push on my bear and find comfort in knowing he is at peace now.

My Poppy spent much of his time bettering and trading watches and made friends all over the country because of it. He loved fishing, boating and camping with me and my family. My Poppy was a great man and I was very blessed to share my life with him and all the wonderful adventures we had. My Poppy died March 4th, ,2020. He will forever be missed and always be in my heart.
