The Adirondacks

This year my family and I went to Lake Placid for our Summer Vacation. My aunt and her dog came with us too. We did three main things : Kayak, Go on the water Trampoline, and make s’mores. Everything we did was so much fun.

When we found out the cabin we rented had a kayak, we immediately took it out on the lake. My dad had to teach me how to do it since I had never done it before. He also had to teach my brother but he got it right away. My dad gave me a push so that the kayak went out farther so the paddle wouldn’t hit the ground. Once the kayak stopped moving, I tried to paddle but then I almost fell into the water! I made my dad swim out and bring me back in.

The second thing we did was go on the water trampoline that was on the lake. The water was cold, but we had to swim through it to get to the water trampoline. It was so bouncy and slippery since it was wet from us going on it. When my dad came on the trampoline, my brother and I tackled him into the water. It was really funny.

Finally, the last thing we did was make s’mores. My first one was a perfect golden-brown. But my mom wasn’t paying attention and hers melted off her marshmallow stick and landed right in the fire. My aunt’s dog also wanted one but she can’t have chocolate so I went inside the cabin and got her a treat to enjoy. Everyone ate about three s’mores.

In conclusion, my family vacation to Lake Placid was my best vacation ever and I’m sure my mom, dad, brother, aunt, and her dog all agree with me. I really hope I go back there next summer.
