Let’s think about our own culture and where we come from.

What traditions and celebrations do we partake in the United States?

We’re going to read a book called “A ticket around the world” and find out how other children just like you guys, live around the world.

Children living in France are just like us here in the United States. There are some things that differ between the two countries. Can you find two differences between France and the United States?

As we can see from visiting each country in the book, we are all the same! Children from the United States follow different traditions and cultures than Children in Costa Rica. What similarities can you find?

After reading the book, Can you summarize any cultural attributes, like popular food, national animal, official flower and official language. We’re going to watch a video about different cultures to better see how children around the world live!

After watching the video, are there any children whose culture surprised you? Which country was the most fascinating to learn about?

We’re going to do a fun activity where you choose two countries and compare and contrast them!
