THE STORY OF DEVORAH AND BARAK

About Devorah:

Devorah was the wife of Lapidos, her job was to create the balls torches for the temples, she was also a judge at that time, she sat under a palm tree and people came to her to ask to be judged. 

One day she decided to call Barak Ben Avinoam and she sent him to Mount Tavor to draw the army of Sisera as they had 900 chariots. He agreed but only on his terms. 

His terms were that she had to come with him. She then said she would accompny him but said that since he didn’t believe in God strongly enough, he will not be a hero of the war, a girl will.

They then went to war. All of Sisera’s army died, and their chariots got stuck during the war. Everyone died, but Sisera as he fled on foot.

Sisera ran all the way to the border of Yael and crossed the border. He went to Yael’s house as they were “friends”. Yael then gave him milk so he would lower his guards.

Sisera then fell asleep, but did not know what was coming. Once he fell asleep, Yael stabbed him through his face and he died. Yael was brave but had different reasons then we expected.
