This book is intended for 8th – 9th grade students,

in standard English level.

The educational goals of this book are:
– Improving and expanding the student’s vocabulary.

– Learning the English language in an interesting and non-threatening way

1. First activity: cloud generator – In this activity, I will write in a cloud of words, words that related to the topic I chose, in a form of a question mark. The children will have to read the words aloud in the classroom and guess the topic that links all the words.
2. Second activity: Quizlet – after we learn the new vocabulary, we will learn the definition of each new word, by presenting flash cards, using matching images to help memorize the meaning of the words.

 “Amazing adventurers”: Reading comprehension questions

  1. Kahoot it! – After the students had read the text, we will play a game with questions about it’s topic, that will contain keywords from the text.

Forums assignment

Trigger a discussion, in an online class forum in the schools portal.

 

Question for discussion:

Where have you recently traveled?

  1. Write about where you last traveled, in Israel or in other countries around  the world.
  2. Provide some general information or a few interesting facts about the place you presented. If desired, you can add pictures from your vacation.
  3. Each student must respond to at least two places they have previously visited or they would like to visit, from the places presented by the other students.
  4. In you responses, try to formulation in the widest possible way. Use elaborated sentences, correct use of grammar and sophisticated vocabulary.
  5. You have one week to do the writing assignment. After that the writing option will be closed, and you will have one more week to write your responses to the other students.
