Nancy Wake-
Nancy Grace Augusta Wake was born on the 30th of August 1912. She worked as an Special Operations Executive in France during World War 2.
Wake was living in Marseille with her French husband, Henry Fiocca, when the war broke out. After the fall of France to Nazi Germany in 1940, She became a courier for the Pat O’Leary escape network led by Ian Garrow. As a member of the escape network, she helped Allied airmen evade capture by the Germans and escape to Spain. In 1943, when the Germans became aware of her, she escaped to the United Kingdom. Her husband was captured and executed.
After reaching he United Kingdom, She got a codenamed “Helene,” And joined the Special Operations Executive.
In 1944, She proved herself by killing an S.S officer who tried to prevent her from a raid on a town who was ruled by Natzi
Germany.
Wake died on the 7th of August 2011.
Achievements-
On the 22nd of February she got a ribbon form the Commonwealth of Australia for her outstanding action in war time.
On the 17th of July she got 5 ribbons from the United Kingdom for her specil operation in France.
In 1970 she got a ribbon from France ffor her first aid help during war.
In 1988 she got another ribbon from France for her first aid help during war.
On the 15th of November she got a ribbon from New Zealand for her return to service.
