Nancy Wake
Nancy was born in New Zealand, on 30 August 1912.
She was the youngest from 6 children.
When Nancy was 2 years old her family moved to Australia.
Wnen Nancy was 16 years years old she ran away from home and became a nurse.
In 1937 Nancy met Henri Fiocca, who was a wealthy French industrialist.
They got married at 1939.

Nancy named by the Gestapo “the White Mouse”.
Nancy was one of the most effective British agents working in France during World War II.
She was credited with saving the lives of hundreds of Allied soldiers while the war.
She received so many medals for her wartime service, that she lived out her old age on the proceeds from their sale.
Nancy died on Augusut 7, 2011 in London, from an infection.
She was 98 years old when she died.

Nancy’s Achievements
Nancy was appointed a knight of the Legion of Honour in 1970 and was promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honour in 1988.
In April 2006, she was awarded the Royal New Zealand Returned and the RSA Badge in Gold.
