Were is Norway?
We are a country in Scandinavia. We share borders with Russia, Finland, Sweden and the sea way to Denmark. We have one of the world’s longest coast lines and close to the north polar circle. That effects our weather a lot. Oslo is our capital city and is south east in the country in the end of a fjord.

Norwegian history
From 793 to 1050 the Viking age ruled around Europe. And that was when Norway ruled all the seas, they knew about… they were rich and scary to the civilized people in England and Rome. They used massive boats to get around in the world like they went to Iceland, Greenland and to north Amerika.
In the year 1814 17th of May Norway got its own constitution. But we were still under the power of the Danish and Swedish king. In fact, we did not become an independent country before 1905.

POLITICALS
Norway is a democratic country. We have a king and queen, we also have a prime minister. The prime minister is being selected by the people. There`s many different political parties running for election. In Norway we have election for the whole country or only for county and municipality. In 2019 we had election for county and municipality, in Oslo the political parties Right (Høyre) was the winner. Every four year we have an election for the whole country and who the prime minister will be. Two year after that election we have for county and municipality. So, every two years we have a type of election.
The power is partitioned on the courts, the king and parliament. This is helping us for control the power and not have one place where the power is and can do what ever they want.

OSLO, ENVIRONMENTAL CAPITAL
In Oslo it`s more less cars driving than before. We do not emit as much CO2 because many people in Oslo if they have car, have an electric car. When we don`t drive so much we can hear the beautiful sound of the nature. 2 out of 3 traveling who is happening in Oslo is happening collectively.
Oslo is the municipality in Norway who has the most plant and wildlife. We also make trash into new thing, like a plastic bag has been recycled and been a new plastic object.
In Oslo we have people who cares of the environment, in the townhall, schools and other places. This is one of the most important reason why we won.
Everything in this text is a reason why Oslo won the environment capital for 2019.
