1.. Bandoneons are bellows-driven (bellows is a tool used for blowing air. It consists of a leather bag between two wooden boards that you pull apart and push together) free reed instruments (a free-reed is a reed in a musical instrument that vibrates when the air comes through it) that belong to a category called “squeezeboxes”.
2”. In Argentina and Uruguay, this instrument is tied to the history of tango music, while Lithuania has used bandoneon for playing folk music.
