Claim: Geologic Processes have changed the Earth’s surface by erosion and deposition. Deposition drops sediments to new places and erosion carries broken parts of rocks to new locations.

Evidence: Geological processes have changed the Earth’s surface by erosion and deposition. Erosion changes the earth’s surface by, wave erosion the wave erosion station shows us how the sponge moves the water upon the sandhill and carries water and sand particles down the hill. In the deposition station, the water carries dirt down the hill and forms a delta, the water made its own paths down the hill.

Reasoning: This evidence supports my claim because of how the waves make energy that carves out sand on a sandhill. Deposition and erosion change our earth’s surface.

In the picture, I observed that there is a big rock, there are trees in the background, there is an ocean in the front, and there are sand and rocks in the front. I infer that Point of Arches Shi Shi Beach, Washingon Coastal was formed by deposition and erosion. I think this because deposition helped carry sediments and make sand, for erosion it made the beach by wearing down rocks into small sediments which created san along the coastline creating a beach. This helps us inform that deposition and erosion helped Point of Arches, Shi Shi Beach, Washington Coastal form.

(Washington Coastal Geology Formation). The lab stations made me understand how wave erosion works and how deposition works. I observed that when the sponge went up to the sandhill, it made the sandhill go in this weird shape and formed a delta down below (wave erosion). I observed that when Mrs. Ellefson poured water down the dirt hill it formed a path and the water carried dirt down the hill and formed a delta below (deposition).

The water goes against the mountains and wears down the mountain down bit by bit. Water begins to rise. Pieces of rock begin to fall.

The water begins to wear down the mountain which makes the water carry down sediments, and form a delta down below. The mountain has pieces of rock that come down to the water and stay there.

Geologic Processes change Washington Coastal Areas by wave erosion and deposition. Point of Arches, Shi Shi Beach, Washington Coastal was changed by wave erosion and deposition by wave erosion wearing down the mountain making tiny sediments and rocks down below. That water carried sediments and rocks down below and that formed a delta.
