earlier, and for this, I applaud you. We are struggling for a uniting word, but the good news
is, we have a uniting movement. It is called HeForShe. I invite you to step forward, to be seen
and to ask yourself, “If not me, who? If not now, when?”

PHUMZILE MLAMBO-NGCUKA
Executive Director, United Nations Women’s unit
Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka executive director of the United Millerler women’s unit. During her tenure, she was highly focused on the rights and activism of women in the countryside. He also co-founded the HeforShe campaign, which aims to mobilize one million men who support gender equality. Mlambo-Ngcuka, who was Vice President of South Africa from 2005 to 2008, fought to end the apartheid regime throughout her tenure, as well as being the first woman to hold that post.
SAMANTHA CRISTOFORETTI
Samantha Cristoforetti is an Italian European Space Agency astronaut. She holds the record for the longest uninterrupted spaceflight of a European astronaut and until June 2017 held the record for the longest single space flight. She is also the first Italian woman in space. Samantha Cristoforetti is also known as the first person who brewed an espresso in space.
She graduated in Aeronautics Sciences (University ‘Federico II’, Naples) in Pozzuoli, becoming one of the first women to be a lieutenant and fighter pilot.
In April 2015, when the Dragon capsule bringing the space espresso machine arrived, she posted a picture of herself on Twitter wearing a Starfleet uniform, with the comment ” ‘There’s coffee in that nebula’… ehm, I mean… in that #Dragon”
On 16 July 2015 she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

As leader of the National Council of Women of Romania and of the Women’s Association of Romania, she was vice-president of the International Council of Women, representing the International Women’s Alliance, and represented Romania in the League of Nations.
