This talk covers a wide range of subjects. What happens when you taste sugar (it might be worthwhile taking another look at where our sweet sensors on our tongue really are), and why we become addicted to sweets much the same way as we become addicted to drugs. There are a lot of questions raised in the talk but it leaves a lot out – how sugar consumption can lead to diabetes and other medical conditions, and if it is so dangerous, why does our mind crave it in the first place.
