This is an important lesson because we learn how scientists are able to map ongoing brain activity using three techniques. FMRI which is commonly used shows us where oxygen is being consumed. It is possible that other important things go on that do not require massive energy consumption, and that we miss these nuances using techniques such as this one. The lesson teaches us that FMRI and PET are completely harmless. I’m not sure about that either. In general, scientists should doubt everything. Don’t you think?
