A great lesson with an important message. How do we preserve texts? The written word, an invention that is about six thousand years old has enabled humanity to write perhaps 100,000,000 books with many more coming online every day. There is a chance that the library of Alexandria was not burned by Julius Caesar, but fell into misuse because of the attempts of the Church to outlaw acquisition of learning.
Oh and isn’t it ironic that the idea of the library is accredited to the warrier Alexander the Great? Perhaps not, when you consider who his teacher was.
