Once upon a time, a family lived in Israel.
A lovely family, Elimelech, his wife Naomi and his two sons.
But because there was hunger in Israel, they left to Moav.
Unfortunately, Elimelech and his two sons died.
Naomi was left alone. But not absolutly alone.
Naomi stayed with hers two daughters in law from Moav, Ruth and Orpa.
Naomi and Ruth come to Israel poor and destitute.
They decided to work in gathering the fields.
They reach Boaz’s field, a relative of Naomi. A dear and rich man.
Boaz looks at Ruth as she picks in the field.
He wants to know about her and her family, when he hears what she did for her mother in law, Naomi, he decides to give her special treatment.
Naomi hears from Ruth about the meeting with Boaz, and suggests to her to wear a nice dress.
Ruth did just that, then went to Boaz’s home and waited for Boaz go to sleep.
In the middle of the night, Boaz found Ruth in his home she asked him to marry her.
And…
Finally,
I respect Ruth.
She left everything. Her country, her home and her family to go with Naomi.
That’s not obvious. I don’t know if I would do the same thing.
In my opinion, “Kabalat Hatorah” is a decision to follow God’s path and try to love that, no matter what.
