Ending of Huckleberry Finn

‘So I’m staying right here until a doctor comes’. Me and Jim took Tom near a road and fortunately there was a man. I screamed:’Help! I need help! Call a doctor, please!’, the man replied: ‘Sure! I hurry up!’. Then the man started running to the nearest hospital. Meanwhile Jim removed his vest to cover up the Tom’s wound. After ten minutes the man arrived with a doctor. The doctor slingshotted to Tom for heal him and the man went away because he was so scared of the blood. After 30 minutes the doctor finished the initial operation before to take Tom to the hospital. When we arrived to the hospital the doctor took Tom on a stretcher, then he looked at Jim; he noticed that Jim was black and he made a strange face. Then he said:’ You’re a slave! You can’t stay here, now I will take you to your master!’ ‘No, you can’t, now I’m a free man’. Then they continued to discuss out of the hospital. I was so worried for Tom that I did not take any notice of that discussion (I am so repented for this). Indeed, I should have noticed of that,beacuse it happened a thing that I won’t never forget.

When the doctor and Jim was out, at a certain point, Jim punched him so strong that the doctor was dead, instantly! Then Jim went to me, (I was in the hospital) so scared, and he said to me:’ Finn I made a terrible mistake: I punched the doctor and now he is dead!’ ‘WHAT? Why did you kill him?’ ‘We were discussing because when he saw me much better he said that I’m a slave and that I have to return back to my master, after I tried to find excuses like “I paid my debt, now I’m free”, because I couldn’t say to him that I runned away. Then he said that I’m a dirty black, and that all I have to do is to be only a slave. I did not see there anymore and so I punched him!’ ‘Oh my God! Jim now I’m so confused and shaken and I don’t know what to do (what a terrible situation)’ ‘Me yes, I have to hurry up, they will have already found the body. Look at me Finn, I’m so sorry for what I have done but I can’t return back. These little moments of freedom were fantastic (more or less), but now I have to go, I have to

escape!’ ‘No Jim you can’t run away, we are friends and now that you’re free we finally can go to Cairo in Illinois, please don’t go away!’, both with tears at eyes, ‘I’m so sorry Finn, but I can’t remain here, I have to go, see you soon bro!’ and then Jim runned away of the hospital; that was the last time I saw him. I was so schocked because of what that is happened and I didn’t know how I fel and what I had to do.

Then there was so caos in the hospital because by now they discovered the doctor’s body and this not helped me so much for knowing what to do in that moment.

After a few hours Tom finished the operation and he was fine for taking a bullet in his leg. The doctors said that Tom had to remain in hospital for two weeks and I decided to say everything to Tom after a week. But it remained one problem: I didn’t know where I could stay for two weeks while Tom recovered because the plan was that until we didn’t arrive to Cairo, we would have only travelled, with no house. I decided to arrive to the nearly city for stay at the nights and so I passed these days quickly.

After one week I decided to tell Tom the facts. While this action me and Tom started crying because of the facts. Tom was so sad after the news and he would not was so happy for the bullet in the leg because now he thinks it’s his fault and he would have done something for stopping Jim punching the doctor but hurting him (the doctor) in other ways that would not get them into trouble. After all and passed the others week me and Tom were sad and we would have prefered to remain into the hospital. After we went out the hospital there isn’t so much to say, because simply we realized our dream: arrive to Cairo in Illinois. The travel was quite easy because we only followed the river for kilometers and kilometers. The travel was so annoying without Jim, I missed him so much and I miss him also today. When we arrived to Cairo we was so excited and, Jim, you should have seem it. For us it is the best city in the world, there was everything. By now we realized our and your dream, Jim. Then the life was beautiful and now when I’m writing this letter for you Tom is here with me and we are living like we dreamed for an entire life.

This letter is for you, we miss you a lot and we want you to return from us. We know you’ll never read this letter but we wanted to write a memory of you, Jim.
