Who are the hazara?

The hazara people are an ethnic group that are discriminated and persecuted by the taliban, today their population has decreased to 9% but in the past centuries they constituted the major ethnicity of Afghanistan people. Some hazara, live in Pakistan and Iran, to escape persecution,but they continue to suffer from hunger and poverty.

Why the talebans continue to persecute them ?
