Tsunami:

Is a phenomenon of huge waves that burst into the sea.

The Causes for tsunami:

Tsunami waves are created mainly after an earthquake in the deep ocean. The tip of the upper tectonic board was “compressed” for a long time downward, due to pressure due to the penetration of the board against it. When the top of the upper board is released at once and moves from bottom to bottom, it hits the sea with tremendous speed. This releases a large amount of energy, which shocks the water and creates very strong seismic waves from the center out, moving between 400 and 1,000 km / h.

The earthquake and tsunami in Sendai (2011):

The earthquake in Sendai took place on March 11, 2011 on the northern coast of Honshu, the largest island in Japan, near Sendai, capital of Miyagi district in Shtauhoku. The magnitude of the earthquake was initially set at 8.9 on the torque scale and revised to 9.0 by the Japanese Meteorological Agency. The noise was considered the strongest in Japan in the last 140 years, and after the fourth most powerful force in the world since the measurements began. The earthquake caused a tsunami about 10 meters high that hit the shores of Honshu. The impact of the waves caused Fukushima’s nuclear disaster, the second of its severity, and most of the people affected by the earthquake.

Casualties and damages:

Official reports account for 15,889 dead, 2,597 missing, and 6,152 injured. Most of the people were killed in three main locations: Miyagi (9,538) Iwata (4,673) and Fukushima (1,611) and several dozen were killed in other sites. For example, seven people were killed and 117 people were injured in Tokyo. As a result of the earthquake and tsunami, many fires broke out and damage to infrastructure, including nuclear power plants and refineries, was caused. Total destruction was caused to more than 100,000 homes, and heavy damage to close to 300,000 homes and hundreds of roads.
