Julia Dreyfus

Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus ,

better known as Julia Dreyfus, was born in New York City on January 13th, 1961. Her parents got divorced when she was one years old. When she was eight years old her mother got remarried to L. Thompson Bowles.

Her American-born mother, Judith, was a writer and special needs tutor. Her French-born father, Gerard Louis-Dreyfus, chaired Louis Dreyfus Energy Services.

Julia is a great-great-granddaughter of Leopold Louis Dreyfus who in 1851 founded the Louis Dreyfus group, a French commodities and shipping conglomerate, which members of her family control into the 21st century. Her paternal grandfather, Piere Louis Dreyfus, was president of the Louis Dreyfus Group. Pierre was from an Alastain jewish family; he remained in France during World war 2, fighting as a cavalry officer and later in the French resistance. Her paternal grandmother was born in America to parents from Brazil  and Mexico; during the 1940s, she moved Julia’s father to America from France.

We found no information about her maternal grandparents and their ancestors but we would love to know all about their careers, important events and achievments in their lifetime.

Career

From 1990-98 she was the main character in Seinfeld.

From 1999-2004 she voiced in A Bugs Life and in one of the episodes of The Simpsons.

In February 2002 she began a new single-camera sitcom, Watching Ellie, which premiered on NBC.

The series was created by husband Brad Hall.

2005-2010 she was cast as the main character in The New Adventures Of Old Christine.

In May and June 2011, Julia teamed up with husband Brad Hall for her first short film, Picture Paris. Brad Hall wrote and directed the film, while Julia played the lead role.

Julia’s awards

Julia won 27 awards and got 96 nominations. She has been nominated for 9 golden globe awards. She has also been nominated for 21 Screen Actors Guild Awards and has won 5 for individual performance (she got 9 in total). She has won the Primetime Emmy Award 7 times, and more that we simply couldn’t find.

She has also received a hollywood walk of fame star.
