..James and the Gigant Peach is not the same as other books…
.

….Let yourself enter a new world that was full of injustice for a child who ended up living with his aunts… Don’t worry because everything isn’t that bad. This is also a world full of magic and fantasy, and all thanks to some small crystals that that little man gave to James some day.

Ssshhh … I’ll tell you a little more. A stumble eventually attracted the greatest of his adventures and his escape.
What do you think will happen? Will it brings friends or enemies? Will this story has a happy ending?
….A magical adventure accompanied by comrades that you may not imagine will be possible at the first time, and they will cross challenges that may unite them…

Do you want to know what is really happening? I invite you to read the book.

.Summamy:

James had loss his both of his parents in a unfortunate accident caused by a rhinoceros, so he is obligated to live with his aunts, which they have isolated him from others.

A small man came when he was all alone and gave him a bag with some cristals that promised to be magical. A small carelessness mistake made the crystals out of his reach, but that mistake was the start of something wonderful.

Until the tree could no longer stand it, a peach grew from that dry tree. James entered the peach, and it was where he met his companions from his greatest adventure when they escaped from James’ aunts.

A long trip by the sea made them take to face obstacles that would seem impossible to overcome without imagination.

 Main Characters:

James Henry Trotter:

He is a lovely kid since the start of the story, innocent, good-hearted, and honest. However, miserable by the tragic fate of his parents because he started living with his ants. Even with the loss of his hopes, his goal was always to reach New York at some point.
He is name Nasty Little Beast by his aunts.

Aunt Spiker:

She is a cruel, lazy, unkind, and abusive woman like her sister. She is a tall woman and is described with a rather thin body. It is easy to notice that she will take advantage of whatever she can.

Aunt Sponge:

Sponge is mean, vain, selfish, uncaring, violent aunt. Both sisters share these characteristics, and their only difference is their body type. She has a small in stature and a little overweight.

Mr. Centipede:

He is a centipe with a human’s size. His personality is really fatherly, friendly, loud, and helpful. Also, most of the times he is very optimistic, and he is really proud of his one houndred legs.

.

Miss Spider:

She is soft spoken, respectful, ans sweet, and she is always wearing a blue scarf.  Her goal became to arrive safety to New York. Also, she feels grateful with James because he saved her when she was only a small spider.

The Earthworm:

Since he is a earthworm, he is blind and always wear  sun glasses and a red bow tie. He is pessimistic, cowarly, and loyal to their new family.

Mrs. Ladybug:

Her personality is firm, kind, and proper most of the times.    She uses her purse as a weapon when one of them did not behave well. Also, when necessary, She is quite brave.

Glowworm:

She may have some problems to listen to them because of her age, but her personality is very loyal and pleasant. She end up working as the light in the Liberty Statue.

Mr. Grasshopper:

He is a verry sophisticated, proper, and intelligent character. He became something like a grandfather to James.

“There’s more power and magic in those things in there than in all the rest of the world put together, the old man said softl.
But–but– what are they?, James murmured…
All at one, the old man pushed the white paper bag into James’ hands, and said, Here! You take it! It’s yours!” (chapter 3, page 9)

.

.
I really find this part very important, because without it the story would not be as it was presented. It would be something completely different and much more tragic. I wouldn’t know what would’ve happened if that little man hadn’t given him the crystals at the first place.

..

“Faster and faster it feell. Down and down and down, racing closer ans closer to the houses ans streets below… people were looking with stupor… they thought was the biggest bomb in all the word falling out of the sky onto their heads.

There was a squelch. The needle went in deep. there was the gigant peacgh, caught and spiked upon the very of the Empire State Building.” (chap 35-37)

This fragment of the story is important because they finally had reach their principal goal. They had arrived in New York. It was not in the best conditions since they caused a great uproar to the citizens, but they were well accepted by others  for the curiosity and mention that there was no danger.

.   .I can totaly recommend this book, and it isn’t hard to read. It is really entertain for all the adventures, challenges, and the enemies (if I can call them like that) they need to face in order to achieve their goal.

.

.   .This book is one of the few fantasy book for kids that I love as the same for the movie. Even though they have their differences, you still enjoy them.
