Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Deloris and James R. Jordan Sr.
Jordan is the fourth of five children. He has two older brothers, Larry Jordan and James R. Jordan, Jr., one older sister, Deloris, and one younger sister, Roslyn.

Jordan attended Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, where he highlighted his athletic career by playing basketball.
Motivated to prove his worth, Jordan became the star of Laney’s junior varsity team.
In 1981, Jordan accepted a basketball scholarship to North Carolina , and in 1986 He graduated the same year with a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography.

Jordan joined the NBA Chicago Bulls in the 1984/85 season. He surprised many that by his first season he had become a key player in the team, leading the points, rebounds, assists and steals.
Jordan continued to play well in the following seasons.
In the 1990/91 season, Jordan led the Bulls to a record of 61 wins in the regular season.

Jordan was at the height of his ability at the age of 30, having won three straight NBA titles with his team, but in 1993 his personal life was traumatized.
In the period after his return, Jordan faced moderate physical and professional fitness as a result of the absence of a year and a half from the basketball courts.

On September 25, 2001, Jordan officially announced that he was returning to an active game in the Wizards. He explained that he was returning because of his love for acting, and said he would donate his entire salary to the relief efforts of the victims of the September 11 attacks, which had occurred two weeks earlier.
At the end of the 2002/2003 season it turned out that Jordan was planning to retire from basketball and became a professional manager at Wizards.

Years later, Jordan continued to maintain his capacity and devoted his time to his family. Throughout the period following his retirement, Jordan donated a considerable part of his personal fortune to various charitable causes that are close to his heart.
