BİRİNCİ BÖLÜM ( FIRST PART )

                                MY FRIEND MELISA
I have a friend, her name is Melisa. She is 9 years old. She lives at the lower floor. She has a brother. His name is Can, he is 3. But she didn’t use to love her brother. She always made fun of him. She used to say “ You can’t do this, you don’t know that…” . Can used to get upset and cried because of her sister’s behaviours. Their mother was also used to get upset to this situation. Melisa’s mother tried to talk to Melisa many times about her behaviours but she didn’t listen to her mother. She kept on kidding him . I warned my friend Melisa, too. I told her that she was doing wrong. But she didn’t listen to me , either.

In fact Melisa was a clever and hardworking girl. She got high marks at school. But she used to make fun of her school friends, too. I was her only friend. Sometimes she even made fun of me, but I knew that in fact Melisa was a good girl.

One day everything changed. A new girl moved to our building….

SECOND PART

One day everything changed. A new girl moved to their building. This girl was Greek. Her name was Athena. Also her religion was different.
One day while Athena was walking downstairs she heard someone screaming. It was Melisa. So Athena rushed towards her to help her. She found Melisa crying and she asked her what happened. Melisa said : << I think I broke my leg>>. Athena called Melisa’s mother and then she called for an ambulance too. The ambulance took Melisa to the hospital. Two days later, Athena visited Melisa at home.
She rang the bell (she was a bit hesitant) and Melisa opened the door. Melisa said: << Hosgeldin.Gel…>> Athena didn’t understand her because she spoke Turkish. Melisa asked her to come in. They started to talk about their daily routine. Melisa suggested Athena to come with her family to the mosque and pray together but Athena’s answer was negative. She said that she goes to church in order to pray. “Ok” she said. “No problem… I like you and I want you to be my friend”.
Melisa’s mother was happy too because Melisa showed respect and she agreed with that new friendship. Melisa also stopped making fun with her brother as well. Athena was from a different country, a different nationality, a different religion but SHE was her daughter’s new friend, a “different” friend who helped her daughter to change and show respect to others…
