Intro

Hi there! My name is Falmata Maya Maibe and this is my year 5 Heartfelt scrapbook. I am in classroom 5a with my teachers Mrs. Animasaun and Mrs. Amaka and my fellow classmates* . I am also 10 years old. I am making this heartfelt scrapbook mainly because we are closing the school in a few weeks time and I am moving from year 5 to year 6**. Enjoy!

All About Me

Like I said, my name is Falmata Maya Maibe, I’m ten and I am in year 5a. As you can see, my favorite colour is pink. My BFF* is Aishu, who is also in year 5, but in year 5c. Even though we are not in the same class, we’re still BFFs. Anyway, read the rest of this book to find out more about myself.

My Different Subjects

Like any other class in CIS, the subjects we learn are Topic, Numeracy, Literacy, TLIM and Science*.

Numeracy

In numeracy, we learnt about rounding, areas, perimeters, quadrilaterals, fractions, decimals, multiplying and dividing. All of these were quite easy, and as a matter of fact, I am in the highest Numeracy and Literacy classes.

Literacy

I am also in the highest literacy class, in year 5a. The highest numeracy class is in 5b. Anyway, in Literacy, we have been learning a lot of things. Letters, Adverbials, Modal verbs, Word families, and even short and spooky stories. Booooooo! Here are 3 of my tasks below:

Topic

In topic, we learnt about lots of places around the world. We did Greece, Rome, Nigeria, Baghdad, Jerusalem and Sumer. I kinda like Topic, but my favourite is Science, which is after these 4 pages of my work. Enjoy!

Science

Now, here comes my favourite…..drum roll……SCIENCE! In science we learnt about stars, planets, chemical reactions, chemical changes, electricity, conductors, insulators, reversible changes and irreversible changes! Now that’s a lot of Science, If you ask me!

TLIM

And finally, TLIM. In case you didn’t know TLIM means ‘the leader in me’. In this subject, we learnt about freindship and the seven habits; Be proactive, Begin with the end in mind, Put first things first, Think win-win, Seek first to understand then to be understood, Synergise and Sharpen the saw. Its always best to fill up that emotional bank account.

My Total BFFs

FRIENDS ARE AWESOME!!!!! Speaking of which, I have a bestie, and her name is Aishuwariya Roy, but I call her Aishu, for short. The truth is I have tons of friends. I brought them all together and tought them alot. Or, they tought me alot. Actually, we tought each other alot. There’s Amatullah,Pritika, Pracheeta, Adya, Rosanne, Keji, Ayana, Ibrahim, Kabir, Molayo, Aviva, and so many others!

My Field Trips

During year 5, we went on alot of different types of field trips. One time we went to this play area when we could play with miniature i-pads, i-watches and we could make pancakes and smoothies. We also went to the bread lounge. we decorated sweet bread with yummy buttercream and sprinkles and we got to take it home to eat it. YUMMY!

My goals, achievements and dreams

Because I love Science I want to be a chemical Scientist. I’m hoping the world will call my name. And if I achieve that goal, the whole world will hear me scream. I have actually achieved alot in year five , from making my writing bold, to being in the literacy week comittee.

But my biggest dream of all, is to become the head girl in year 6*!

Ms. Animasaun: It has truly been a lovely experience being your class teacher. Thank you for all the memories and for showing exemplary behavior all through the year. I am truly going to miss you, all the best in Year 6.

Mrs. Amaka: Maya, thank you for making this year a memorable one. See you in year 6!

Onward To Year 6!

Before we move on to year 6, we usually have a production. 2 years ago its topic was Annie. Last year it was Mulan. I think that was the best. But this year, we’re doing another ks2 musical; My fair lady. For my class, we are corographing and singing the song in My fair Lady called ‘Why can’t the English…?’ Me, Elo and Rosanne* are the proffesors. Since the proffessors’ line is extremely long, we split it in three.

  After the production is prize giving day. This is when all the teachers give out special prizes to their students. But in year 5, they choose who should be prefects, the head girl and the head boy! That’s super special! But it also means you have a HUGE REPONSIBILITY!!!!

I really want to be the head girl or prefect in year 6. Well, I guess its gonna be hard work! Remember, My name is Falmata Maya Maibe and you can now consider me your friend. See ya round!
