Iowa is located in the midwest region of The United States of America.  Its eastern boarder is the Mississippi River and its western boarder is the Missouri River.

The capital city is Des Moines.

Iowa has 3.1 million residents.

Iowa has been named one of the safest states to live.

It is nicknamed The Hawkeye State.

Chapter 2: Capitol

The capitol of Iowa is Des Moines. Des Moines is centrally located in middle of the state. Des Moines is a large city with about 215,000 residents.

Des Moines is home to The Iowa Cubs, a minor league baseball team for the Chicago Cubs.

Chapter 3: Iowa State University

Iowa State University is located north of Des Moines in Ames, Iowa.
