Dear diary,

Tomorrow Ann is coming to visit me. I am very excited to see her after all this years and I hope she is too. In her last letter, she wrote that it would be nice to go dancing out at the shore. Once she is here, I hope to tell her all my feelings. I have been in love with her ever since we started writing to each other. One thing that scares me is that my mother will not accept our love. I am going to meet her now and I hope mother is ok with it.

Dear diary,

Ann has arrived in the middle of the night. In a weird coincidence, Larry’s tree was broken at the same time. Mother is indeed upset by the idea of Ann and me being together. It was a very dramatic day but in the end, I am sure, everyone will understand that it is right for us to be together.
