I wish to tell you the story of what I’ve seen on my journey on an ocean liner in 1920.

I was traveling from San Francisco to Yokohoma for business in Japan.

I was working for the U.S. embassy in Japan and went to meet the Japanese emperor in Tokyo.

It was my fifth time in Japan, a country which I learned to admire.
