The reason George chose this path in his life and wants to be educated is to achieve the American Dream and have a job, a house, a car … etc.
However, the reason why i want to learn and get educated is because I have a passion for education, I like to learn new things and be more aware of the different aspects of life, education is my goal itself.
Post Reading
Write a letter from George to Mr. Cattanzara ten years after the story ends ?
Dear Mr. Cattanzara,
It’s been 10 years since I last saw you, it was when you advised me to follow my dream and be successful, even though you didn’t say it like that literally, you said “don’t do what I did”, you encouraged me to wake up and realize that I’m not going to achieve my dream by just sitting down and do nothing, so I got up and started reading those 100 books witch was a start to my love for books and education, then I read more and more, I couldn’t get enough because reading opened a whole new world to me where poverty and ignorance could always be beaten. In the end I found myself moving forward and approaching my dream, till I reached it. Even though I’m the one that worked hard, but you had a big part of my success, that’s why I wrote this letter, to thank you for making what once seemed impossible, possible.
George!
