I really do not like sending this out, as it is what could be termed ‘extreme’.
But….a) it is perhaps the first political email I have ever received from one of my daughters, Eliana.
And.. b) the film was produced in 2008, yet is so appropriate for today’s events.

We know – and you should, too – that Gaza may be under siege, but it is NOT starving, and receives limited but certainly enough humanitarian goods through Israel’s borders. And I hope I do not have to repeat – for the umpeenth time – why Israel is blockading this potentially lovely strip of land.
Btw, Egypt also has a border with Hamas…hint, hint.

This flotilla did not want this trip to end peacefully. They did not want Israel to peacefully pass on the goods through Israeli borders, to peacefully check the personnel on the ships and to peacefully release all who came with peace.
I’m sorry this happened, I regret any loss of life. But I criticise the Israeli orders that put our boys in danger, ending in many Israeli casualties.

After all the warnings, shots should have been fired across the bows. By then, all peace-loving travellers would have surrendered.
I would then have launched a fleet of lifeboats, dinghys, etc. etc., and then, after the mandatory count to 100, would have, one by one, sunk the ships.
I would even have guaranteed compensation for the humanitarian goods lost in the water.

I am extreme? But my tongue is in my cheek…..
