Every time I look at a National Geography magazine I get upset and frustrated. Why? Firstly, because I realize how wide and beautiful the world is and that I, probably, will never see all these places in my lifetime. The second reason is that I see the amazingly beautiful photos of landscapes, animals and people and I wish my photos would look as professional and expressive.
I love traveling. From time to time, as often as I can I need to break out from the bubble, it’s for my sanity. I need a change of atmosphere , to breathe a different kind of air, meet new people, new cultures, new landscapes, experience different attitudes towards people.
It’s not easy to capture all of this in photos. It takes a real pro to transfer an atmosphere, the smell, the weather and the power. I try to capture people, mostly faces. In this book I bring you some of my favorite people. I don’t know any of them personally but I love the way they are reflected from my camera.
Traveling to Japan was one of my biggest dreams. I love Japanese movies, Japanese food, design and esthetics, I am fascinated by their culture and way of living.
So it was only obvious (to me:-) that one day the dream will come true.
At 2012, it happened, I spent three weeks exploring Japan from north to south, not even a bit disappointed and realizing that the most amazing thing about this country is its people. I couldn’t stop taking people’s photos, especially women and children, they look so beautiful to me, maybe it is because they are so different from me and the people that I’m used to but I returned with hundreds of amazing faces in my camera.
At 2013 I managed to fulfill another dream, Africa. Well. not the entire continent but I went to safari in Tanzania and what an experience that was.
We visited three tribes while traveling this enchanting country: the Maasai, the Bushmens and Hadzabe. It is unbelievable the way these tribes live. With some of them It’s like time stopped hundreds of years ago. The government made an effort to adjust some of them to more advanced way of living but the attempt failed. They felt like they were loosing themselves and wished to return to their traditional ways.
Traveling to European countries is always a pleasure. One can always find interesting places to go to, museums, palaces, monuments, shops, restaurants, but beside all that, as you can imagine already, I enjoy looking at people, especially in un conventional positionsJ.
